Kona Dance and Performing Arts, a non-profit arts organization in Kealakekua striving to provide high-quality education and instruction in dance and performing arts to the local youth and Big Island community, seeks dance teaching artists. Kona Dance and Performing Arts is an organization that prides itself on the quality of teachers and staff, all of whom have trained and performed professionally both in the state of Hawai’i and across the world.
Specifically seeking:

  • Trained professionals for ballet, tap, and jazz classes for ages 3-6, with early weekday afternoon (2:30 pm) and Saturday morning availability.
  • Trained professionals for musical theatre, tap, and jazz classes for ages 7+. Experience with theatre improv, singing, and dance required for musical theatre classes.

A degree in childhood development or elementary education
A degree in performing arts, music education, musical theatre
, or dance
Knowledge and experience teaching with Anne Green Gilbert’s Braindance (for teachers working with 3-6-year old age range)
Professional training in ballet, tap, jazz, and other genres of dance and performing arts
Extensive experience working with children
Extensive experience teaching children and teens
Prior dance studio or performing arts organization working experience

​​​Front Desk Customer Service

Kona Dance & Performing Arts in Kealakekua, is looking for  friendly, organized individuals to join its team. The Dance Studio Front Desk provides part-time customer service, family/student support, staff support and administrative support to the daily operations of Kona Dance & Performing Arts.
Up to 15  hours a week - This position requires a combination of afternoon, evening and weekend shifts. Will be responsible for opening and closing of studio.
Candidate MUST be able to commit to a flexible schedule. Duties will consist of but not limited to: assisting family needs, ensure class roll & accurate attendance, assist with class transitions & time checks, assist student needs, assist staff needs. $15.00 an hour
