About the Course
Get ready for a fun, energetic, and challenging pilates mat class series with Alli Tomsik! This mat class series will focus on the main pilates principles including breath, axial elongation, core control, alignment, spinal articulation, weight bearing, and full body connection. The class will promote stability, flexibility, and overall muscle tone, with an emphasis on alignment and posture. You’ll leave feeling taller, stronger, and more mobile for your everyday needs! Suitable for all levels, just bring yourself, a towel, a mat and let’s have some fun!
Your Instructor
Allison Tomsik
Alli Tomsik was born and raised in Medway, Massachusetts. She began her ballet training at Franklin School for The Performing Arts under the direction of Cheryl Madeux Abbott. While training there, she worked with accomplished choreographers, Meg Paul and Joseph Jefferies. Alli performed classical ballets such as The Nutcracker, Coppelia, and Sleeping Beauty. She has attended multiple summer training programs including Complexions Ballet, Ballet Austin, American Ballet Theatre, and BalletX. Alli recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Hartford and received a BFA in Dance Performance from The Hartt School. During her time at The Hartt School she worked with renowned choreographers Desmond Richardson, Hope Boykin, Jacqulyn Buglisi, Didy Veldman, and Norbert De La Cruz III. Her repertoire included iconic works from Jose Limon's, There is A Time and classics like Giselle, where she commanded leading roles. In 2023, Alli had the opportunity to spend two weeks in Amsterdam, Netherlands attending workshops by Crystal Pite, Joan Inger, and William Forsythe. There, she explored and deepened her knowledge of improvisational techniques and composition. Alongside her training at The Hartt School, Alli received her Comprehensive and Mat Pilates Teacher Training Certification through Polestar Pilates. This 500 hour transformative certification enhanced her dancing by heightening her awareness of mobility, stability, and breath. Teaching movement became a newfound passion, enriching her life and allowing her to inspire students of all ages. Alli has recently dedicated summers to teaching at various training programs, imparting her knowledge of ballet and movement to children of diverse skill levels. Through years of rigorous training and teaching, she has embodied leadership both within the studio and beyond, influencing lives through her passion for dance. Her ultimate aspiration is to illuminate the lives of those around her, spreading love and joy as an exemplar of artistry and dedication.
